Madi's Baptism

We scheduled our trip to Houston with the purpose of baptizing Madi. Ideally, we would have baptized her when she was much younger (like three months), but living in Norway that wasn't logistically possible. We realize we didn't have to baptize Madi since it's not a declaration of her commitment to follow the Lord.

However, it's a promise on our part to raise her in a Christian household and to show her God's love and teach her about His Son Jesus and the amazing sacrifice He made for us. It was something that was important to us and our faith and I am so glad that we had the opportunity to travel back to CEPC for the ceremony. :-)

Rev. Richard Harris, who we got to know as our Family Life minister and on our mission trip to Honduras, was able to officiate the ceremony and our good friend David Meeh, was the assisting elder. So much of our family came for the celebration and we felt so blessed and honored that they could participate in the special day with us.

My fabulous friend Marianne of Charade Photography (she also did our maternity photos), was able to do Madi's one year photos and the baptism while we were in town. She is so patient and wonderful - both as a friend and a photographer (which we needed since little miss was teething big time!)

Sunday, June 1, was truly a special and momentous day as we baptized Madison Rose and had a reception afterwards to visit with family and friends that love and care for Madi and are praying for her spiritual wellbeing already! Thank you everyone for making it such an amazing day. :-)
