Halloween 2021

Halloween did not disappoint in Qipco! The houses were spooky and the girls loved trick or treating with their friends and getting loads of candy. We also enjoyed some festive jello shots and decorated haunted houses! 🎃👻

October Update

The fall has been dominated with outdoor activities (specifically baseball and t-ball) plus parties and playdates with friends!

Baseball vibes! Madi joined the Orieles and rocked her first game (hit and out) earning her player of the month in 9U for the month. Love watching her play in her first team sport!

Beach babes! We headed out to the water with friends for some much needed goofing off and vitamin D.

All the paddling! I have been going out to Katara to paddle with friends as well as West Bay Lagoon. I am loving being on the water.

  1. The girls made bracelets to sell in the compound to buy candy for the Afghan refugees on the US air base here in Doha.
  2. The spoils of their money and other donations for the fall festival on base.
  3. Bagging hundreds and hundreds of goody bags for the kids!
  4. Enjoying the drift competition from Dad's shoulders.
  5. Family photo at the drift competition.
  6. Personalizing her hand-me-down kicks.
  7. Delicious homemade breakfast sandwich.
  8. Enjoying the Family Fridays at Doha Spots Park after baseball is over.
  9. A much-needed Loot evening out with these ladies.

  1. Fall break fun at Jump (Madi)
  2. Fall break fun at Jump (Liv)
  3. Fall break fun at Jump (Evy)
  4. Kidzmondo for the day!
  5. Straight hair for school.
  6. Delicious mexican chicken dish.
  7. Awkward Zoey.
  8. Family games Friday!
  9. Playdate at Caboodle.

I also got a chance to spend some quality time with Evelyn and Olivia during overnight stays at a hotel during the school break! I was sad not to travel this break, but then really enjoyed the time at home and with friends before our big trip this December.

Camel Races in Qatar

One of the things remaining on our Qatar list was camel races. The schedule is completely in arabic and the races can be cancelled or delayed without notice. We asked a friend to help translate and confirm times the day before and then the next step was the find the exact location. We drove past what appeared to be the entrance, but said do not enter. However, after watching multiple cars pull in that way we decided to give it a go. It was the correct things to do 😂

We drove in and managed to find our way over to where the cars drive alongside the camels while they race. It is completely nerve-racking as the land cruisers are swerving, speeding, and moving all around you to try and stay with their camels (so thankful Jason was driving!).

We did this a couple rounds before the police kindly pulled us over and informed us that trucks are not allowed, only SUVs. We pulled off and walked up to where the camels start the race and got to see them up close and watch a couple more races with friends before calling it a day. It was definitely a fun experience and we will probably go again in the future if we have friends visiting us.

One-on-One Hotel Fun

The twins have been begging for a Mommy trip for awhile now. Unfortunately with covid-19 and all the testing, risk, and restrictions it just was not in the cards. However we decided to do the next best things which was an overnight hotel stay with each of the twins during their school break this fall. They got uninterrupted Mommy time along with pajamas, face masks, beach, pool, and plenty of snuggles. 😊
