First Baseball Game - Go Astros!

We had the amazing opportunity to take the girls to their first baseball game when we were in Houston! We went early for the Family Day activities and got a fun caricature of the girls.

Afterwards we headed to our seats and explained how the game of baseball worked. The girls did well on snacks (they love dippin dots!) and enjoyed watching the game.

Some of the other spectators around us heard that it was the girls' first game and they told us if we headed over to Member Services they would give us a certificate commemorating the event!

After the game we queued in line for the girls to go down on the field and run the bases - what an experience!

Evy & Liv are SIX!

 These sweet girls are already SIX! They got to celebrate their birthday in America with donuts, painting ceramics, Wendy's, and their requested cookie cake! It was sweetened by having Grandma in town and being able to celebrate with their cousins that evening. {We gave them their pajamas and books in Doha the day before we left so we wouldn't have to haul everything with us πŸ˜…}

Evelyn  - you are such a fun spirit and easy going. You are bubbly and make friends easily with anyone and never exclude people. You enjoy playing with your sisters and never want to be left out. You are sensitive, but the toughest physically. We are so thankful to have you as a daughter! Happy 6th birthday!

Olivia - you are such an observant and hilarious person. You can make anyone laugh with the comments you make and your point of view on things. You are independent and love doing your own thing, even if your sisters don't want to join you. You are confident and quiet (sometimes) until you relax and let loose. We are so thankful to have you as a daughter! Happy 6th birthday!

Fourth of July!

This summer was the first time in nine years that we've been in the USA to celebrate America's Treason Day πŸ˜‰. It was also the first time the girls celebrated in America. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ There is just something about being able to watch fireworks and bbq on the Fourth that we are so thankful our girls could celebrate this year.

We spent the weekend slightly jet lagged, but ready for fun with our family and the girls' cousins. They got to do a Fourth of July parade in their neighborhood, watch fireworks at a local county event, and then celebrate with swimming and a bbq and home fireworks.

Happy Independence Day!

June Journal

The month of June flew by - the girls were able to return to school in-person for the last few weeks, we had a friend visiting that we took out every Saturday to show around Qatar, we celebrated the girls' birthdays with an ice cream extravaganza, Madi turned 8, we celebrated Jason for Father's Day, and we checked out the new water park in Qatar!

We also packed and got ready for our flight to America which I am currently on as I type this post - amazing right?! 😁

Here's some of the highlights from this month 😊

  1. The girls excited to all head back to school in-person!
  2. Love a good charcuterie board - and super proud of my pepperoni and salami roses πŸ˜…
  3. Online learning day with their constant companion - Zoey.
  4. We tried making almond butter blossoms. The girls just ate the Hershey kiss, but we enjoyed the entire cookie.
  5. Bubbles and swimming during the week!
  6. Teacher's gifts! πŸ€—
  7. Olivia dominating a game of Uno. We've been playing a lot more games recently and loving it!
  8. Our new game stash - we got a chance to order games directly to the house instead of having to try and bring back this summer and I may have gone a tad overboard in how many I ordered, haha!
  9. Enjoying a round of the game of Life!

Last day of school pictures! I can't believe they are now in Grade 1 and Grade 3! 😱

The past five Saturdays we’ve had the opportunity to take a friend visiting Qatar for work to some of our favorite places {and a couple new ones too!} From the city sights of Souq Waqif and the National Museum to outside the city visiting Abu Nakhla, Mangroves, and Sheik Faisal Museum to diving further into the desert for Eye Rock and Umm Bab Quarry and more! We had some fun adventures and it was a great reminder of how much beauty there is to explore in Qatar.

Jason and I were able to sneak away for a date night just before leaving Qatar thanks so some amazing friends. They not only asked to watch the girls so we could go out, but even insisted on taking them out to dinner! The girls enjoyed Cheesecake Factory with Mr Dan and Ms Gena while Jason and I enjoyed trying a new restaurant and enjoy each other's company.
